After 12 years of attending Adventist schools I graduated in 1985 from Auburn Adventist Academy. I attended Pacific Union College and Green River Community College with the goal of becoming a PE teacher. However, after four years of part-time school and work I made the decision to enter the workforce full time in construction.

I began my construction career in the fall of 1989. I worked for a contractor in Puyallup, Washington as a project superintendent and had the benefit of learning many aspects of the trade while working for this contractor for about four years.  I later ran my own construction business in the Puyallup-Tacoma area.

In April of 1990, Tracy and I were married and began our family with the birth of Gregory in November 1992. Christopher followed in January 1995, and then Madeline in June 1996. We moved to Wenatchee in January 1997 and I resumed my construction company here.

In 2005 I was hired to coach the freshman boys’ basketball team for Eastmont Junior High. I had such a great time working with those kids that it rekindled my desire to become a teacher.

In 2007 I enrolled at Ashford University to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher.  In 2010 I graduated from Ashford with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science and went on to earn my degree in Secondary Education from Rio Salado College, passed my State certification exams for grades 7-12 and receive an endorsement in history. In 2018 I graduated from Western Governors University with my Master of Science degree in Curriculum & Instruction.

In the summer of 2012, I was hired by Cascade Christian Academy to perform my dream job of teaching PE, and to be the Athletic Director. In 2013, I was given the opportunity to use my construction experience and started an Industrial Arts class. This class is required for graduation from CCA and is a great way for juniors & seniors to learn the skills necessary to perform everyday tasks that all homeowners and car owners should know. In 2018, I was able to move from teaching in the gym to the classroom and now have the opportunity to teach High School History.

My goal at CCA is to lead by example, teach Christian principles, and consistently improve my teaching skills. I wake up every day grateful for the opportunity to work with kids and find ways for them to enjoy History and Industrial Arts.
