I have always enjoyed working with kids, and I love learning and discovering. So it was only natural that I pursued teaching as a career. After graduating from WWU in 1990, I followed yet another interest, travel, and took my first teaching position in Guam. In that initial year of teaching 30 fourth graders, I became hooked, not just in the joys that teaching brought, but in the island life and the gracious people there. So I stayed for seven years, continuing to teach 4th, and later 5th grade at Guam Adventist Academy. Guam is also where I met my husband, Warren, whom I married in 1993.

In 1997, we moved back to the states, where I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade at Tillamook Adventist School. Then in 2000 we moved to my hometown, Wenatchee, and I began teaching 4th and 5th grade here at CCA, where I had once been a student!

We followed God’s calling to adopt, and in 2007 I took a break from the classroom when we traveled to China for our first, and then later our second daughter. After seven years at home with my growing girls, we all came back to CCA together in 2014! They are thriving in this wonderful Christian school, and I am again immersed in the joys of helping 4th graders discover and learn more about God’s amazing world.
