At the age of 12 I knew I wanted to spend my life in the world of science. After graduating high school and working full time I attended Eastern Washington University and the U of W pursuing my goals. Then the Lord finally caught me and changed my life and my focus. Now I decided I would use my love of science for Him. I graduated with a BS in Nutrition from Walla Walla University, and was then invited to join their teaching team in the Nutrition department. Teaching had never been a consideration for me but I found I loved it, yet other opportunities were calling. I held a variety of positions over the years and then completed a MS in Nutrition from Loma Linda University.
From there I worked in a number of clinical settings in both the US and Canada. While in Canada I was asked to teach at the local junior academy and then at Parkview Adventist Academy. I found I enjoyed teaching even more than my clinical work so I completed a BA in Education from Union College to better equip myself and focus on teaching.
In 2000 I was called to teach at CCA and have loved the years I have been here. I “retired” a few years ago but missed it so much I came back as an aide, while spending my down time completing a certification in Restorative Practices.
Now I am once again in my “happy place” sharing the wonders of God’s creation and the marvels of science with my students.
