I will be joining you from Bozeman, Montana, where I have served as Principal of Mt. Ellis
Academy.

I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Union Adventist University (then Union
College) in 1993. While in college, I worked on a construction crew, an experience that would
prove beneficial in the years to come. My first teaching position was in Dodge Center,
Minnesota, where I served for five years as the 5th–8th grade teacher. During the summers, I
built homes to supplement our family’s income.

After our first child was born, Shawna and I felt the need to be closer to the grandparents, so we moved to Canon City, Colorado. I served at the 4 Mile Adventist School for five years as Head Teacher. During that time, I built our family a home in the Colorado mountains. After those five years of teaching, an opportunity presented itself to purchase land near our home, and I spent the next four years developing and building homes on the property.

In 2007, I was called back into teaching at HMS Richards Elementary School in Loveland,
Colorado. I spent 12 years there as Principal/Teacher, building and developing the program.
From Colorado, I moved to the Shenandoah Valley. I served the Shenandoah Valley Adventist
Elementary School for six years as Principal. In 2023, I received my Master of Education in
Instructional Leadership from Southern Adventist University.

Over the years, I have served as a middle school athletic director and coached various sports
including basketball, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. Even though I haven’t been directly
involved with high school sports, you will often find me at games, connecting with and
encouraging the players.

I have a passion for Christian education which includes athletics, outdoor education, mission
trips and other educational trips to help students develop their God given potential.
My wife, Shawna, and I have three adult children and will celebrate 35 years of marriage in
August.

My wife and I are excited to be part of the CCA family!
