Although I was born in Colorado and still consider it a valuable part of my roots, I have become a fully-integrated Washingtonian. I love sports including volleyball, basketball, and cycling. Some of my other hobbies include making homemade cards and playing board games.
My husband Craig and I met in Spain in 2006 where we were both attending Sagunto Adventist College as ACA students from Walla Walla University. We returned to WWU and finished our degrees. We were married in the summer of 2012.
As a graduate of Auburn Adventist Academy (2004) and Walla Walla University (2010), I am a firm believer in Christian education. Since my graduation from WWU, God has led me to two different teaching opportunities. My first two years of teaching were done in a one-room school in Stanwood, Washington. Those first two years of teaching truly challenged me, but with God’s help, I was able to survive and grow spiritually. Working in a one-room school gave me the opportunity to develop and strengthen my classroom management and creative teaching skills. In 2012, I taught middle school at CCA for 10 years. I began working on my MAT in Educational Leadership in 2017 and completed it in 2021. Upon the completion of my MAT, beginning in the fall of 2022, I transitioned from the classroom to administrative duties. Working as Registrar and Vice-principal gives me a broader view of curriculum needs and educational trends and help me find solutions to meet the challenges that education is facing today. My new responsibilities allow me to support teachers and continue to advocate for students.
