Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve had an affinity for numbers, being detail-oriented and organized.  Once I took my first accounting class in high school I was intrigued and was sure that I’d found a career that would put all of those interests to good use.  I graduated from Auburn Adventist Academy in 1985, planning to go to college to be an accountant.  Once I got to college I had a fantastic woman accounting instructor who further fueled my passion for financial order – I was hooked.  I graduated cum laude, with a BA in Accounting from Seattle Pacific University in December 1989 and went to work two weeks later in the world of public accounting.  My husband, Greg, and I were married in April 1990 and lived in the Federal Way-Puyallup area of western Washington.
I’ve worked for a number of accounting firms, ranging from my first job in Seattle with an international firm with thousands of employees and offices all over the world to small, local firms in Tacoma and Wenatchee.  In 1992 when I had my first child I began working for myself from a home office so I could stay home with my baby… then two kids and finally, three kids.   Our family moved to Wenatchee in 1997 and a few years later I decided to get serious about becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant); a daunting task after over ten years out of college and while raising three young ones.  With a lot of help from my family and a LOT of studying, I passed all parts of the November 2000 CPA Exam and was ecstatic to learn that I also scored in the top 10 for Washington State.
I became CCA’s treasurer in January 2010 and it has been a wonderful experience.  I’ve learned that my passions are accounting and Christian education!  A few wonderful highlights in my time at CCA have been to see my children attend and graduate from CCA; they have each grown and thrived and received a rich, well-rounded Christian education.  Another great event was for my husband, Greg, to join me in working at CCA in August 2012, when he became the PE Teacher and Athletic Director.  CCA has been a life-changing home for my entire family.
Serving the families, students and staff at CCA has fulfilled me in a way I have never before experienced in my career and I am so blessed to be here!
